SuperCali 1.0.7 Released

Dear SuperCali Users,

SuperCali Version 1.0.7 is released and I recommend that all users download the patch as it involves a security fix. This is an update of two files:

1) includes/start.php - Variables are better sanitized against cross scripting and sql injection.
2) modules/upcoming.php - This has been updated, and the example code to use outside of SuperCali should work now. Apologies to those of you frustrated by this.

SuperCali 1.0.6 Released

I am pleased to announce the release of SuperCali 1.0.6. This version is intended to improve script performance by reducing the number of database. It also addresses some bugs with regard to user permissions to view events.

Due to popular demand, I've also included a new module, "Upcoming", which is designed to be included within another Web page to show a list of upcoming events. Be sure to take a look at configuration and usage instructions included in the file.

SuperCali 1.0.5 Released

Dear SuperCali Users,

I am happy to announce the release of SuperCali version 1.0.5. This version fixes bugs and security vulnerabilities, namely:

1) SQL injection vulnerabilities in login and calendar administration.
2) Stylesheet errors which caused problems for Internet Explorer 7
3) Category and Group selection in CSV uploads
4) A few more minor issues.

Important Security Fix for SuperCali.

Hello,

I've just posted SuperCali version 1.0.4 which fixes a security vulnerability in the show_event.php file. You can visit:

and download the patched file. The archives include new versions of add_event.php and edit_event.php which are for users who have had issues with the add_slashes code of previous versions.

Instead of downloading, you can change line 28 of your show_event.php file from:

if (!$_REQUEST["id"]) {

to

if ((!$_REQUEST["id"]) or (!ctype_digit($_REQUEST["id"]))) {

SuperCali 1.0.0 Released

I am pleased to announce the release of SuperCali Version 1.0.0

This is a significant release, one that is worthy of a full version number. There are a number of new capabilities:

1) Day and Week Views, including JavaScript so that you can enter event times with a drag of your mouse.
2) Ability to add repeat event dates by day or week
3) Calendar Groups, which allow for multiple calendars in one instance.
4) Notification by e-mail of both proposed and posted events.

With this new release, SuperCali has made some significant improvements in usability and capability. Thanks to everyone for their ongoing support.

SuperCali PHP Event Calendar Exploit - Correction

Hello,

I made a mistake in the quick fix for the SuperCali Calendar exploit:

Please go to includes/start.php and change line 108 (or thereabouts) from:

if ($_REQUEST["o"]) {

to

if (is_numeric($_REQUEST["o"])) {

The previous function (is_int) will not work and will lock your calendar in the default view.

This affects all versions of SuperCali. The quick fix is to edit includes/start.php and change line 108 (or thereabouts) from:

to

if (is_int($_REQUEST["o"])) {

SuperCali-0.4.0 Released

I am proud to announce the release of SuperCali version 0.4.0.

This version of the script includes a new "modules" feature as well as several minor bug fixes and tweaks.

With the new modules tab, users will be able to install and configure new ways of viewing the calendar. Included with the distribution are quarterly and yearly calendar views contributed by Chris McDonald. I hope that with the development of this feature, users will be encouraged to write their own modules to fit their particular needs.

Supercali Version 0.3.0 Released

Greetings,

I am pleased to announce the release of SuperCali Version 0.3.0. Available at:

This version adds two key features:

1) Ability to create and/or specify a language file.
2) Option to specify an "All Day" event.

These are features requested by SuperCali users. Currently, the only language option is English, but I hope that users who develop their own language files will submit them to be included in the distribution.

There are a few obscure bug fixes made in this version as well. However if you are currently running Version 0.2.0 without problems, and don't require the above features, then you can probably wait for a later version.

I am currently working on giving the calendar to check for conflicting events at a given venue. This is in preparation for supporting a "room reservation" module based off of an earlier script I wrote for Princeton University.
